Knowledge goal: Learn some new words and phrases that describe the beautiful places. Teaching key points and difficult points 
Key points: 1. Key words and phrases. 
2. Use reading skills to understand the article. Ability goal: Develop the students’ ability of introducing places. Moral goal: Love beautiful places, and love our hometown. 
Difficult point: 1. Present perfect tense. 2. Reading strategy. 
Teaching aids: Multimedia courseware, learning plan, pictures, and blackboard. Teaching steps  Content Teacher’ s activities Students’ activities Design aims 
One Warming up Enjoy a piece of music. 
Listen to the music. 
Draw the students’ attention to the English class. Two Leading in Show the pictures and ask the students what the names of the countries are. 
Read the names of the countries and lead in the new lesson. Learn about the countries’ names by looking the pictures. Three 
Pre-reading 
Watch a video about Singapore. Ask some questions: 1. What do you know about Singapore? 2. Do you like it? 3. Look at the picture, the title, the first and the last sentences to guess the main idea. 
1. One group of students says something about  Singapore. 2. One group of students says something about  Night Safari. Inspire the students by watching a video. 
Four 
While-reading 1. Ask students to skim the article to find the answers to the 
questions.  
2. Ask students to scan the article and find out the key word in each paragraph. 
3. Ask students to read the passage carefully and answer the questions. And ask some groups to show their key points and difficult ones. 
4. Ask students to listen carefully and finish the task. Then ask them to read the passage and work in groups to answer the questions 
5. Ask students to read aloud and correct the mistakes. 6. Do the exercises. 1. Skim the article and answer the questions. 
2. Scan the article and find out the key word in each paragraph. 
3. Read the passage carefully and answer the questions.  Show their key points and difficult ones.  Work in groups and solve the problems. 
4. Listen carefully and work in groups to answer  the questions. 
5. Read aloud and correct the mistakes. 6. Do exercises.

2. Tell the reasons they like the Singapore or not. 1. Understand the text by reading, reciting, and retelling the stories.
