Step1 Preview
1. Ss read the new words and phrases in groups freely. 2. Ask some groups to read the new words and phrases together. Step 2 Warming-up and lead-in
1. Sing an English song What Are You Doing?
2. Use Wangyuan and Wang Junkai’s chatting interface on WeChat to lead in ING.

Step 3 Presentation
Teach some new words,phrases,their -ing form and lead in the main sentence pattern.

Ss read in different ways to practice the sentence pattern. Step 4 Match work
1. Show a picture with an apartment to the Ss .
T:There are many people in the Happy Apartment.What are they doing? Please turn to page 31 and finish 1a.
Ss match the activities with the pictures. 2. Check the answers with the Ss.
3. Ss underline the basic form of each word.
4. Let’s play a game. There are many phrase cards in the teacher’s hand. When the teacher takes out one card, Ss should stand up quickly to read the phrases they know loudly.(listening to a CD－I’m listening to a CD.) The teacher will give the fastest group one smile.
5. Ask students some questions by using the phrases in 1a to practice the

sentence pattern.

1. T: What are Jenny,John,Dave and Mary doing? Now let’s listen to the recording, find out the right activities from 1a.
2. Ss listen to the recording and write the numbers from 1a. 3. Ss listen again and complete the sentences. (1) Jenny is ________ TV. watching (2) John is _________ the dishes. washing (3) Dave and Mary are _______ to a CD. listening Step 6 Practice
1. Ask Ss to speak out what the person is doing in the pictures given by the teacher.
(1) T: Who’s she? Ss: She’s Cao Haolan. T: What’s she doing? Ss:She is talking on the phone. (2) T:Who’s he? Ss: He’s Jing Yuanhang.

(1) Ask Ss to read the conversations in 1c with a partner. Then look at the pictures in 1a and make conversations about other people in the picture.
(2) Ss make conversations by themselves and practice the conversations. A: What’s he/she doing? / What are they doing? B: He/She is ... / They are...
3. Guessing game
Show one card to a student and ask him/her to act it out,then the teacher asks “what’s he/she doing?” Ss should stand up quickly to answer the questions.The teacher will give the fastest group one smile.Finally,the teacher gives the winning group some little gifts.

3. Ask Ss to work in groups to talk about Wang Zixuan's family.What are they doing? Then write a report. Ask some students to share their reports with us.

4. Tell Ss that our parents are very busy, we should help our parents do more housework.
5. Ask Ss to draw a photo of their family. Step 9 Homework
