Analysis of teaching material: 
1. The topic: a plan for a volunteer job 
2. The function: Make a plan for a volunteer job 
3. The teaching material: There are six modules in Revision Module A in total. They are different in topics. The sentence patterns from 3 modules are related to the theme-a plan for the volunteer job, while some useful expressions from the six modules are also applied in the tasks. So this class is based on solving tasks in different levels with an aim to achieving the perfection of writing a plan for the volunteer job.   
Analysis of students: 
1. The topic ”a plan for a volunteer job” is close to students’ real lives in our school. My students are able to talk about their abilities and plans. In addition, they are willing to express themselves. 2. Most students are familiar with the majority of new words and expressions. They also have a basic understanding of volunteer job because they’ve experienced foreign students’ visits before. These may help students make a plan for volunteer job properly. 
Teaching objectives: 
By the end of the lesson, most students will be able to make a plan for the volunteer job according to different classes with rich language. This will be achieved by 
1. consolidating the learned words and expressions of describing abilities, plans and character 2. summarizing different expressions by reading and speaking 
3. using the target language through writing letters for a volunteer job in real-life situations 4. discussing and sharing with others to cultivate the ability of critical thinking in English 
5. arousing students’ awareness of Chinese culture and developing their quality of helping others Teaching focuses: 
1. to tell the structure in a letter of volunteer plan 
2. to understand different expressions to describe abilities and make a plan 
3. to be able to use beautiful and various sentences to make a plan for volunteer job 4. to make a plan for volunteer job properly and clearly 
Anticipated difficulties: 
Students may feel it difficult to 
1. summarize different expressions of describing abilities, plans and character 2. make the plan reasonable Solutions

Students are supposed to make a memory test about the video and write the verb phrases on the blackboard. students’ attention. At the same time, students can have 
a basic understanding of volunteer job. The question ”What do you think of the volunteers” is raised to stimulate students’ thinking and present today’s topic. Ask students writing the adjectives on the blackboard makes them review adjectives with deep impression.          
   
This step aims to lead students to pay close attention to the 
classes of volunteer job. This may also enable them to review the verb phrases in the six modules. As a result, they  can choose a class for the volunteer job in the next step.

Students are supposed to guess why the teachers are worrying in an international visit. b. ask and answer about which class they would help with

Plan for volunteer job (6 mins)

Students are supposed to organize the sentence”be going to...because...” according to Jenny’s plan for volunteer job and guess the reason of the second step with different expressions. They are also expected to use as

They are expected to raise the ability to listen for the important items and retell it.

expected to give proper endings to the letter.  
This step aims to make the students learn to analyse and have an idea of the general structure of a letter. And they are also supposed to give different endings. This may make students understand that they need to organize a letter of plan with those

Students are supposed to choose the best plan and write their own letters. Each student is expected to finish one part of the task and present it.

Students are supposed to listen to the presentation carefully and comment on it.  
This step is for different levels of students. They are supposed to write a paragraph or correct mistakes according to their level.

think about how to be a good volunteer 
Students are supposed to think about how to be a good volunteer after the lesson. 
This step is for students to come to realize that knowing how to write a letter of plan is not enough. They should also learn to take care of others and be helpful. And it’s also to evaluate how well the students have mastered the content of this lesson.

This is for students to put what they’ve learned and reviewed into practice and show themselves. 
This is a lesson about Revision Module A. As basic language skills, listening, speaking , reading and writing have all been drilled in this lesson. In order to consolidate what we’ve learned and reviewed better, the writing task and polishing task are left as homework for different levels of students.
