1.Learn the new words about months: January,February，March，April，May，June，July，August，September，October，November，December and some other words：writer，novel，fan，thousand. 
2.Master the sentence structures: When/Where were you born？I was born in...When/Where was he/she born？He/she was born in... 
3.Foster the past forms of is:was,were. （二）Skill aims 
1.Can read and write new words about months and other words. 2.Can use the sentence structures to ask and answer. （三）Emotional aims Get students to know how to ask people around about the year，the month and the place they were born. 
四、Key points and difficult points (一)Key points 
Know how to read and write the months；ask and answer by using the sentence structures. 
(二)Difficult points 
Read and write the twelve months；use the past forms of be（was and were）in the sentence like be born. 
五、Teaching procedure: Step I .Warming- up 
Play Fizz game(review the numbers) Step II .Lead in and Presentation 1.Lead-in:  
Ask the students several questions:What day is it today? How many days are there in a week?.How many months are there in a year? 
2.Learn the words about months: 
(1)By the vivid pictures on the PPT,teach the words :January ,February,March….  
 
                    
             
                    
                            (2)Discuss in groups and say the relevant months according to the festivals. (3)Sing a song 《The months of the year》.  3.Master the sentence structures: 
（1）Ask the students “What is your favorite month and why?”Then let the students guess what is my favorite month, state the reason to get the sentence stuctures：When were you born？I was born in... 
（2）Ask some of the students this question to get the sentence structures：When was he/she born？He /She was born in... 
Step III Practice 
1.Play sandbag-throwing game to practice the sentence patterns. 
2.Present a map of Qianjiang to get the sentence structures:Where were you born? I was born in…Where was he/she born?He/She was born in…. 
3.Talk about the four pictures of famous people. 4.Learn the dialogue in 1a. 
（1）Show the picture of J.K.Rowling and 《Harry Potter》to let the students know the word novel and the writer . 
（2）Students listen to the record and answer the two questions：When was she born？Where was she born？ 
（3）Listen again and finish the name card. （4）Show the key points. （4）Follow the recording and act the conversation out. Step IV. Production 
1.Do a survey in groups.(name , month,year and place are included ) 2.Report the result. Step Ⅴ Homework 
1.Do section A in the workbook. 
2.Ask students’ parents or family members about the months and the years they were born.
