Teaching objectives:
By the end of the class, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge objective:
cognize the vocabulary and expressions of travelling;
2. Ability objectives:
use skimming and scanning to understand the structure and get the detailed information;
talk about different ways to travel around and compare them for choosing the best one;
write a passage using comparative and superlative forms to compare the ways of travelling in logic and coherence;
3. Moral objectives:
understand the best way to travel in daily life may not be the cheapest or the fastest, but the most suitable one;
make their own family trips and love the beautiful sceneries of the world.
2學(xué)情分析
This is a passage about the best way to travel based on the topic of planes, ships and trains. There are two parts in this passage: the question part and the answer part.
The target students are the eighth graders. They have grasped the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives in the previous modules, so they can make comparisons to some extent. But they may have difficulties in understanding the comparative and superlative forms of multi syllable adjectives and adverbials.

The key points are :
1) to grasp the vocabulary and use reading strategies to understand the structure and details of a passage;
2) to compare the different ways of travelling and find out the best one;
The difficult point is:
to decide the best way of travelling in life according to different criteria.

根據(jù)學(xué)生的小組反饋,從倒入進(jìn)入到選擇最佳交通方式時應(yīng)該注意的問題,進(jìn)入課文學(xué)習(xí),幫助文章主人公選擇從倫敦到阿姆斯特丹的最佳交通方式。
活動3【活動】What is the best way to travel
學(xué)生三讀過程,在教師的引導(dǎo)下,把握文章框架,對文本的細(xì)節(jié)信息進(jìn)行提取,對四種交通方式進(jìn)行比較。通過小組合作,同桌合作,閱讀文本,深挖文本的同時,習(xí)得多音節(jié)形容詞的比較級和最高級用法。
活動4【練習(xí)】What is the best way to travel
三讀之后,對文章內(nèi)容進(jìn)行梳理,目的是為了讓學(xué)生有情感升華,明白所謂“最佳”其實(shí)是因人而異的,“最佳”即“最適合”.并運(yùn)用這一標(biāo)準(zhǔn),討論比較從倫敦到巴黎的交通方式。
活動5【測試】What is the best way to travel
根據(jù)學(xué)生的閱讀理解情況,讓學(xué)生將文章中涉及的四種交通方式排序,從最昂貴到最便宜。這一環(huán)節(jié)要求學(xué)生關(guān)上書本,利用閱讀記憶提取文中關(guān)鍵詞句,檢測學(xué)生的閱讀效率。
活動6【作業(yè)】What is the best way to travel
課后作業(yè)奔著閱讀是為寫作做鋪墊,學(xué)習(xí)語言是為了運(yùn)用語言這一目的,讓學(xué)生自行設(shè)計家庭出游計劃并坐車最佳選擇。學(xué)生在完成作業(yè)之前,教師有具體詳細(xì)的步驟指導(dǎo),最終是讓學(xué)生運(yùn)用多音節(jié)形容詞比較級和最高級的同時,能夠感知“最佳”即“最適合”這一價值觀。
